CFD Responds to MVA

Tuesday, April 4, 2017 On Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 15:21, CFD was dispatched to a tractor trailer rollover motor vehicle accident on I-86 Eastbound, east of the Cuba exit. Forty CFD members responded including all three chiefs as well as Cuba 1, 6, 9, and HM-6. After arriving on scene, chiefs requested IRM Services, Portville Truck, and NYS DOT to the scene. Other agencies on location also included Cuba PD, NYSP, Cuba Ambulance, Friendship Fire Dept., Allegany County DC-2, and AL-51. T & R Environmental Services also assisted at the request of IRM. The trailer was on its side hauling flammable cargo with possible compromised packaging and exposure after impact. Oil leakage from the tractor's cab was also contained by crews. The driver was evaluated by EMS personnel but did not transport and no other injuries were reported. All Cuba units reported back in service around 19:30. Cuba Ambulance remained on location while HazMat agencies completed their work. I-86 East between Cuba and Friendship is now open for all traffic.
